Who was responsible?

                                  

It was Master Casimiro “Chingi” Grandeza founder of the White Kimono Club and the author of Atemi  Uchi  Kudaki otherwise known as attack to pulvurize, 7th dan with a Dan Bon # 2883.

How and where it started?  

THE WHITE KIMONO CLUB, THE MOTHER OF ALL MOO DUK KWAN  

SOO BAHK DO TANG SOO  DO CLUBS IN THE PHILIPPINES 

Bacolod City, Negros Occidental

1953     March 4 – Started at the Residence of Mr. Gonzaga behind the walls of Bacolod MURCIA MILLING  COMPANY,  

                          Bacolod City with Bermuda grass lawn as Judo mat.

                          Founder & President: Master Casimiro "Chingi" Grandeza

                          Lesson taught: (1) KARANAGE (This is now being used today by UFC as seen on TV)

                                                          (Kara - Combat Karate)

                                                          (Nage - Judo and Jujitsu)

                                                 (2) ARNIS

                                                        a)  Sabre style (Defensive and Offensive repertoire)

                                                        b)  Espada Y daga (Closequarter techniques in combination with Karate and Judo)

                                                        c)  Redonda y rapelon

                                                        d)  Pekete Chukete

                                                        e)  Howido de Kaborata – taught by Benjamin Dioso

Defensa – Ofensiba : the body and extremities were legitimate targets om the bouts; with no striking to the head (as per agreement ). Players just counted the lumps, bruises and wounds, if any to keep score. No body armor was used.

1958 -The Club transferred to the residence of Master Casimiro “Chingi” Grandeza at Lusuriaga St., Bacolod City.

         Preferential committee was formed;

                                              1. Casimiro “ Chingi” Grandeza    – President

                                              2. Roberto “Nene” Amoyon           - Vice President

                                              3. Marciano “Ciano” Torres           - Member

1959 – Master Manuel “Jojo” Grandeza Jr. – Junior White Kimono President  

             

1964 – The White Kimono Club spread out to Visayas Moo Duk Kwan (Exhibition & Tournament)

 

– The White Kimono Club produced Karate champions

   Karate Brotherhood of the Phils National Champions held at Rizal Stadium, Manila

           1)    Napoleon Aguirre          – Heavyweight Division Champion

           2)    Alfredo Alfaro               -  Middleweight Divison Champion

                ( Both are White Kimono Players )

 

 

 

The openning door of Korean Moo Duk Kwan Soo Bahk Do Tang Soo Do under the Great Korean Granndmaster Hwang Kee. Master Casimiro "Chingi" Grandeza was introduced by Gregorio Agaloos to the Korean.

 

1965 - Goodwill Karate Tournament ( Manila vs. Bacolod )

 

The White Kimono Club won all individual and Team Championships.- Phil Moo Duk Kwan Soo Bahk Do Tang soo Do recognization and the beginning. It  took only a year as one of the largest and strongest Karate Organizations in the country.

 

1966 – Asian Karate Tournament held at the Araneta Coliseum.  

          Jimmy Magbanua–Heavyweight Champion ( White Kimono Club )

 

Goodwill Tournament – Japan vs. White Kimono ( held at the La Salle Gym , Bacolod City ) 

The White Kimono team won 4 bouts while Japan team won 2 bouts

 

1966 – Initial talk with the family of Master Jojo Grandeza in Davao City for Mindanao Chapter

1967 – The birth of Mindanao Chapter – June 29 under the Chairmanship of

 

Manuel “Jojo” Grandeza- 6th dan with Dan Bon # 3009

1968 - Master Casimiro “Chingi” Grandeza was officially invited by the Grandmaster Hwang Kee to

          study the art of Moo Duk Kwan Soo Bahk Do Tang Soo Do in Korea.

-He was officially sent by the Bacolod City Government to Seoul, Korea.

-He passed the Top masters Course and awarded with the degree of 6th Dan.

-He was appointed as Balckbelt Commissioner and President of the Phil Moo Duk Kwan Soo Bahk Do

 Tang Soo Do.

-He passed the chief Instructor course for Police Defensive Tactics & Techniques
